EMi Chinese - Challenge

To provide Chinese-speaking students studying electronic music with online access to the Electronic Music Interactive (EMI) primer in their native language.

EMI Chinese - Background

Since its inception, the Electronic Music Interactive website has been a foundational instructional tool for students worldwide studying electronic music. Identifying a specific need for access to EMI in Chinese speaking countries, Professor Jeff Stolet from the UO School of Music returned to IMG to develop simplified and traditional Chinese language versions of this site.

EMI Chinese - Solutuion

In order to develop two Chinese language versions of the EMI, Interactive Media worked closely with two of Professor Stolet's graduate assistants, Chi (Iris) Wang and Wan-Ting Huang, to redesign and test the translated versions of the original site. The new website retains all the interactive instructional material of the original while also being accessible in simplified and traditional Chinese and on the iOS platform. In addition, Interactive Media designed a slideshow presentation for the project homepage which promotes the UO’s electronic music program to prospective students.
