ChinaVine - Challenge

Text
Challenge
To design a new website and content management system which introduced a new look and enhanced interactivity in support of ChinaVine’s mission to educate English-speaking audiences about China’s cultural heritage.

ChinaVine - Background

Text
Background
The original ChinaVine website, designed by the University of Central Florida, provided a visually compelling introduction to the project and its subject matter. With the evolution of online social media and content management tools, the ChinaVine team began to envision a more collaborative, interactive site and looked to Interactive Media to realize this vision for their project.

ChinaVine - Solution

Text
Solution
Collaborating with Doug Blandy’s team of UO graduate students and colleagues from the University of Central Florida, Interactive Media implemented a comprehensive redesign of the ChinaVine.org website. This redesign consisted of research into appropriate terminology and information architecture to support the interests and needs of the ChinaVine target audience, the implementation of a new look and feel for site visitors and the utilization of a new content management system for site contributors. The site offers interactive, online experiences with Chinese culture through text, photographs, audio files, and other documentary material.
